Uncle Narsing’s Flight

First and foremost, to all my beloved Kasimanwas, good day to everyone!

I would like to bring to your attention the case of Uncle Narsing Fetalvero, our fellow Kasimawa, hailed from Calabasahan, presently located in Najaran, Assir Region, KSA, that for last 7 years Uncle Narsing has been denied by his employer of any vacation. He, now at his age of 60’s, having a diabetes and high blood pressure, is in distress situation due to his employer’s injustices. Uncle Narsing, together with his other 2 companions, bravely filed a complaint case against his abusive employer at the Imara (Municipal) office in Najaran, Assir Region. Labor case is now being monitored by our government officials.

The purpose of this news report is not to exploit Uncle Narsing’s misery, but to ask each one of us to please pray for Uncle Narsing’s good health and immediate repatriation. His loved ones are eagerly waiting for him to return home.

Anyway, I would like to express here my deep gratitude to Andy Relox, our TFC correspondent (also a fellow Romblomanon), based in Assir region, 300 KM away from Najaran, who first responded to bring this matter to our attention. To the best he could, Andy used his resources to call the attention of Migrante-Middle East to take part. Also, I’m so grateful with Manong Flose Famarin, being a community leader of SAHI, Al-Hassa, used his prowess to call the attention of our Khobar Labor Attache and other Filipino community groups through email. Now, the case of Uncle Narsing is in good hands of our Philippine Embassy’s government officials. Thanks be to God for His divine intervention in the affair of men!

Now, therefore, to anyone of my kasimanwas who aspire to work here overseas, my Uncle’s flight serves as message of awareness for everyone. Really, Life is tough in this part of the world wherein some employers are behaving inappropriately in such manner contrary to the best culture belief they are embracing. Once you fell into some atrocious employers it is hard to get out from their fangs. Sad to know, but it has been always the fate of many OFW’s who tried to find greener pasture in this world of intolerance behavior that long ago their vast desert was a territory of nomadic groups before its oil discovery in 1930’s.

As I shorten this report, please know well it is not my intention to discourage you but to remind everyone to be careful of choosing your employer if you’re planning to come and work elsewhere around the globe.

Here is the video clip regarding the interview of Andy Relox with Uncle Narsing, aired on TFC Channel, Balitang Middle East, ABS-CBN, 06 February 2009.
