Symbolic Key Turn-over Ceremony

Makati City Mayor Jojo Binay and Municipal Mayor Lemuel 'Boyet' Cipriano

Twinning/Sisterhood Agreement: City of Makati, the Financial Center of the Philippines and Municipality of Concepcion (Sibale) located in the island of Maestro de Campo, the island paradise of the Philippines. Strategically located in the center of Philippine Archipelago, Sibale is a compact circular-shaped island famous for its beautiful natural harbor that serves as shelter cove for various seacrafts during inclement weather.

City Mayor Jojo Binay and Municipal Mayor Lemuel ‘Boyet’ Cipriano further seals the friendship when Mayor Binay donated 1 unit of multicab for Sibale, the first ever 4-wheeled vehicle to run on limited stretch in the island’s road network. On December 18, 2009, a symbolic key turn-over ceremony was held at the 21st floor of Makati City Hall.

On September 26, 1994, the signing of Sisterhood Agreement was entered into by and between, the then Municipal Mayor Jojo Binay for Makati (1st class mun.) and the late Mun. Mayor Prospero ‘Pering’ Fabregas for Concepcion (Sibale), Romblon.

Remarkable endeavor! A multi-cab for Sibale, Why not?

BTW, do we have already a concrete or clear guideline on transportation system & infrastructure development derived from Sibale’s Master Development Plan and also aligned to the Island’s sustainable environmental policy specifically on Climate Change?

Refreshing my wits, Climate Change was an important highlight during the speaking engagement (aided by a power point presentation) of our Hon. Mayor at Lipa City’s Sibale Fiesta Benefit Dance last Dec.12, 2009.

Logistic Support or Commercialism is part of one’s island progress, but how far are we really inclined preserving the virginity of our island if we all Sibalenhons acceded in upgrading the current transport system by bringing-in more multi-cabs or 4-wheeled vehicles in the near future? Have we fully understood its pros & cons including environmental impacts?

While it open up an avenue of infra-devt. advancement, we are hoping that environmental conservation & island’s natural profile preservation are utmost policy of the every local executives, that is if we really wish that Sibale should be a tourist haven, an alternative vacation destination for everybody – virgin, unique, serene, and distinct nature and people.

But again, the effort our Hon. Mayor is truly laudable and actually inspiring for all Sibalenhons. Keep up the good works !

Hurrah !!! An addition to Sibale’s Logistics( Ambulance ) inventory !

    Kamusta sa tanang Kasimanwa !!!!!!!!
