I would like to express my concern regarding the “Amantaw Greening Project. Since this one would be really beneficial to all Sibalenhons, I suggest that the municipal government pass an ordinance requiring the education department, specifically high schools to participate in the said project. It may be a good collaboration between the municipal government and the education sector taking a solid action to conserve nature. Students could be mobilized to plant trees and take care of them for the rest of a school year. It would be educational in nature not to include an enjoyable co-curricular activity. Moreover, I am wondering if it could be possible to include the history of Sibale or even the history of the whole Romblon in the elementary curriculum. It could be included as an elective subject or it could be merged and tackled in NSTP (National Service Training Program or CWTS. It would be helpful to take a second look in the history of Sibale and to instill to our youth the love of their roots. As who would take care of our beloved Sibale but the ones who love it. I hope I was able to share some thoughts for all the Sibalenhons to ponder and in the end help in the realization of our common goals. The progress of Sibale.

Congratulations to all the people behind this initiative “Amantaw Greening Project”

I believe that reforestation is an important factor in assuring a continuous supply of timber, It also preserves soil productivity, creates wildlife habitat, (ingwa pa baga ngasing it agila Ag ibang yanggam nak nakikita sa sibale?) it enhances stream protection, (permi pa baga ingwa it tubi ka ato mga sapa) Protects water quality (para perming ingwa kita it mainon ng malinas nak tubi) and creates recreational Opportunities (pagkanda ig tagu-taguan ag mag-idamo it baril-baralan ano).

This project is necessary in our island (Sibale), but we cannot do it alone, we need to get involved the landowners and the people of sibale. The local government lead by our Honorable Mayor Boyet Cipriano and the municipality board members, The SAAA and the Kusog Association, should craft and pass the reforestation act which will became rules and guidelines to help ensure successful reforestation of Amantaw and the other part of sibale as mentioned by Mr. Ramon Fallarme.

In this regards I also join the calls of these people in greening the Amantaw and the other parts of Sibale Island, lets us be part of this project (miskan maisot yang) 'Amantaw Greening'.

Plant a tree for tomorrow...

May god bless us all!
